Anna ran into her room slamming and locking the door behind her she threw herself down on the bed sobbing into the pillows. A week ago she could have dealt with the fact her brother, her only close blood family, had chosen to not look for her because she would still have had Lily but now she couldn't. She felt so lost and helpless. She tried to smother her sobs not wanting anyone to hear her. 

Her mind unhelpfully went back to a week ago when her happiness had been shattered. She had come home earlier than usual and decided to surprise her girlfriend the diamond ring she had bought to finally ask Lily to marry her. She had walked into a silent house which was strange, two half eaten meals on the table she hadn't even suspected what she had found in the bedroom, her Lily sleeping with another woman in their bed. The argument that had followed was the first and the last of their relationship. She had left that night and sought refuge at Artemis' house till she felt able to face the world again and had come to camp. She eventually wore herself out from crying and fell asleep. 

Jace had talked to his daughter and headed straight to Artemis cabin. He was stopped before he cold even start up the stairs by a couple of hunters telling him that he was not welcome here. He meet the eyes of them both as he spoke, "I know Ana is her and I need to talk to her. I have made mistakes and they need to be fixed. Now I really don't want to hurt you but I will see my sister", he replied, meaning every word he said. There was a silent stand off between the three before he was let past them. He moved to knock on the door to his sisters room after checking that it was locked, "Ana? It's Jace, please let me in."

Ana was rudely awakened by the knock on the door a scowl crossed her face as Jace's voice came through the door she debated just ignoring him but knew that he would probably stay there all day just to spite her. She let out a huff of annoyance and got up she unlocked the door and opened it before moving back to lean against the wall watching him. "What do you want?" She asked in an emotionless tone, after her crying jag she had been able to get back in control of her emotions like she usually was it was one of the things that Artemis had taught her.

Jace took in his sister, taking note of her red eyes from crying. He walked into the room and closed the door, wanting to give them some sort of privacy. He ran a hand through his hair as he tried to work out what to say. As he lowered his arm again, the wing of this tattoo became visible. It was practically the same as on their mother had once had but he had made a few edits to it. He sighed and found his voice, "I know I have not right to ask this of you Ana. But can you forgive me. I have been an idiot the last few years and do not deserve your time, but I have never once forgotten you."

Anna clenched her jaw. "No you don't deserve my time." She snapped at him, feeling her stomach twist into knots she wanted so badly to forgive him so she could have him back in her life but she didn't know if she could forgive him for what he had done. "Why?" She asked her voice cracking in the middle of the word she cleared her throat and tried again. "Why didn't you bother to even call me? Do I mean so little to you that you can go for 10 years without speaking to me like it was nothing? You didn't forget me in that whole time you say that whole TEN YEARS then what did you do just put me out of your mind because you had more important people in your life?"

Jace felt his heart clench and he tried to keep his temper in check but her anger made him snap, "I thought you where happier without me", he snapped back. He forced himself to take a few deep calming breathes before he continued. It was something he had been working on since he had snapped at his daughter. He forced himself to continue at a calmer tone, "The last time we spoke we fought as we always have. I thought you would be happier without me. Without the constant reminder of our past. I couldn't protect you then and you don't need me to protect you know. You have others to do that", he replied, speaking most of the truth. A hand raised to run through his hair again, as had always been his nervous habit.

Anna didn't react to his anger with anger of her own she felt hurt filling her instead, how could be possibly believe that she didn't want him in her life. Maybe she was a monster if both him and Lily though they were better off without her. "I've never said that I didn't need you. I needed you, you were my big brother. I still loved you even though you didn't protect me. I wasn't happier without you, I was constantly coming back to camp with the hope that one day you would be here too. But I see now that was a foolish dream of a child, a child who still believed that her only close blood family cared for her. I'm an adult now so it doesn't matter. You can go back to ignoring my existence and I shall now do the same." She said turning away from him to hide the fact that her eyes had filled with tears.

Jace sighed inwardly a bit back a comment before he made things worse. When he sister turned her back on him it reminded him of their childhood when she used to do the same she she was upset with him. He knew it was foolish but he decided to do the same as he would then and walked up quietly behind her and wrapped her in a strong hug that she wouldn't easily get out of. It was when his arms where around her that he realised she was crying and he picked her up slightly in his arms. "I really am sorry Ana. There is nothing I can say that can excuse my actions but if you are the adult you think yourself to be then hopefully you can find it in your heart to forgive your poor excuse of an older brother", the words where barely as whisper as he put her back on her feet and stepped away from her. He moved to the door, knowing there was nothing else he could do to change her mind right now.

Anna was so tempted to tell him to leave and never come back or yell at him for leaving her all alone but knew that would probably destroy the last of their relationship and she didn't want to do that no matter how hurt she was. "I forgive you." She tells him the words forced through an almost unwilling throat, it was a lie she didn't forgive him but without forgiving him he wouldn't stay in her life and she wanted to have her sibling in her life, though she was worried about being hurt by him again and knew that it probably would happen but she wanted to give him this one last chance to be in her life.

Jace forced a small smile at her. He could tell she didn't really mean it but it was a chance to earn back her trust and one he planned to take. Knowing his sister as well as he did, he could tell it was more then him that was bothering her but he didn't want to push his luck and ask straight out. He knew his sister had starting seeing someone but he had a feeling that might be where the problem lay. "What's life with the hunters been like?", he asked, trying to find a topic that wouldn't hurt her further.

"Fine, I've been sent on missions every few months which gave me something to do and kept me skills sharp." She tells him with a shrug not sure what else to say, she didn't even want to go near the subject of her ex it was still to raw for her to talk about it. "And you what have you been up too since we last spoke?" She asks her voice tinged with interest she was actually interested in what had gone on in his life in the ten years they had been apart and not spoken she already knew he got married without her being there and wondered what else she missed.

Jace sighed slightly, "I know you already know about my marriage and I did try and Iris message you about 3 times. I don't know why but they never went through and I know I shouldn't have assumed anything but I thought you didn't want to talk to me. Other then that I have been living in hiding, trying to give Kenzie a better life then what we had", he thought for a moment before pulling down the neckline of his shirt so his tattoo was visible. He knew she would recognise it as one similar to what their mother had had. He had made a few changes to it though, along with mum written through the wings he had added, in smaller writing the names of the 4 other women who had a place in his heart, which it sat over. Ana, Kenzie, Sakarra and Cassila all framed the wings of the bird. His Two sisters, his daughter and his wife. "You will always be apart of my heart Ana. Never doubt that, we have been through to much together for it to not be true. You are my sister and the only one beside Kenzie of which I actually share blood", he replied, letting go of the neckline of his shirt, so that that shirt covered the tattoo again.

Anna sighed holding out her arm towards him, she had the same design tattooed there her mother, Jace's and Lily's names written there, Lily's name had a large cross through it as she decided on what to put there instead she really hated that she still had the cheaters name tattooed on her skin. She let her arm drop after awhile making sure that he noticed that it had him written there and she prepared herself for the questions she was sure he would ask.

She only had that tatoo and two other ones, one the whole of her back, it had been freeing to mark her body she had gotten the wings on her back after she and Lily had broken up, Lily hadn't liked big tattoo's and only didn't complain about the one on her wrist because it had her name on it. Anna had wanted the wings for as long as she could remember but hadn't wanted to upset Lily by getting them but since they had broken up Anna had got the wings and then a large tiger wrapping around her leg. She mostly kept them covered feeling no need to advertise that she had them because she did them for herself and no one else.

Jace took in the tattoo not really surprised that they had had the same idea. He took in his own name and the name that had been crossed out and without giving her a chance to protest he pulled her into his arms. He suddenly understood a lot of things that had happened over the years.

He let her go after a moment and stepped back. "Look I know this isn't much of an excuse and I should have tried again but I did try to Iris call you about a year after we parted ways and....well Lily? Well your partner took the call. I don't know if she knew for sure who I was but she made sure I knew never to call again and that you didn't want to speak. I know now that I should have tried again but after the way we left I couldn't be sure if it was true. I really am sorry I didn't try again Anna but I have always been a bit of an idiot after all", he replied honestly, remembering what his stepfather had been doing to her while their mother was away.

"Ohh." She said her mouth dropping open when he hugged her. A growl escaped her as she whirled around and threw her dagger into the wall before she started swearing long and fluently in old Greek. She punched the wall a few times before she was calm enough to turn back around to look at him.

"I'm sorry she said that, I never said that to her and I'm sorry she took it upon herself to say that, but you're right you should have tried again. But I can't say that I don't understand why you didn't contact me again when that girl said I probably should have contacted you but, oh well it's all in the past now. All we can do is move forward and hope that we can keep on better terms like we are now." She said sinking down to sit on the bed cradling the hand that she had used to punch the wall it throbbed with pain. She could feel that she had broken two or three of the bones in her hand but she really didn't want to go to the infirmary to get fixed up. The pain reminded her that she was alive which most days she didn't think so.
